Web Links
These pages provide links to external web-sites that offer information on a range of useful
topics such as Consumer Advice, Health, Welfare, the Environment and other important matters. Because
Binley Woods On-line aims to support local businesses, the web-sites included in the Information pages are
largely produced by non-commercial bodies, such as voluntary organisations, Government agencies or
departments or other not-for-profit groups. Some web-sites are included which fall outside these parameters
where it is felt that the content is helpful, and the main aim of the web-site is not to promote a particular
product or service.
Some links appear on more than one page. For example Brandon Marsh Nature Centre appears on the Local Links
and Natural History pages, whilst the Office of Fair Trading appears on the Consumer Advice and Government pages.
Links to external sites are designed to open in a fresh window in your browser. This means that the Binley
Woods On-line page where the link appears will always be there. By clicking the boxes on the status
alternately, bar you can 'toggle' between the open windows. Each new link you click will open in the same
window. In this case, if you clicked an 'internal link', to another Binley Woods On-line page, it would open
in the window used by 'Travel and Transport' in the example below. A new external link would open in the window
used by 'Cycle Maps Directory'
When you have finished with the link, you can close the page by clicking on the red 'X' at the top right of
your screen. If the link does not work, then it may no longer be available.
Because web-site designers often believe that everyone has 'Broadband' access, it is quite possible that
some of the sites listed within the Information pages may take a while to 'down-load'. This is beyond our
control, but we hope that you will still find the links useful.
By the very nature of the internet, web-sites are constantly evolving, new web-sites being posted, existing
web-sites being up-dated or deleted. It is therefore not possible to ensure that linked sites will continue to
be available. If you find any of the links within the Information pages consistently inaccessible, please
let us know so that we can investigate and if necessary amend the entry. Please also
feel welcome to recommend new links that might interest other users.
The Community pages contain links to external web-sites of particular
importance to people living in Binley Woods. These include sites covering local government, Policing,
your MP and MEP's etc.
