Binley Woods Neighbourhood Project
Our Aims
The main aim of the project is to promote where-ever possible good neighbourliness. Membership of the
Project is free and open to all residents of the Village. It has a committee, which is elected every year at the AGM held
in September. We try to encourage everybody to be mindful of neighbours who might be unwell or housebound. We are
always looking locally for help with transport, as several people in the village with limited mobility would appreciate
lifts to appointments and social functions. The Project has campaigned on behalf of the community on health and transport
issues and is a member of and is supported by Age Concern Rugby.
When possible, Project members like to involve
themselves with and support other Organisations in the village. We have greatly appreciated our relationships with and
the support we have received from many of these organisations.
Social Activities
We organise Coffee Mornings in the Village Hall between 10.15am and 11.15am on most last Mondays of
the month. At our October Coffee Morning we raise funds for Charity. A different one is chosen each year. Coffee Mornings
are well attended by a friendly group of mostly retired people who make new visitors very welcome. We also organise
four coach outings a year to places for good shopping and to places of historical interest. At least twice a year we have
tea parties in the Village Hall with either entertainment or games.
Come And Join Us!
If you are new to the village or are recently retired or would like to make new friends please
come and join us for a drink and a chat. It would be lovely to see some of our younger residents and their children
joining us.
