Does Binley Woods have any close neighbours?

Binley Woods has as it's near neighbours the villages of Brandon and Wolston.

Brandon is home to the speedway team 'The Coventry Bees' whose stadium on the border of Brandon and Binley Woods is also host to stock car racing and circuses. Brandon also has an hotel, a club, and a pub. A care home is also situated within the village.

For those who enjoy the outdoors there is also Brandon Golf Course and Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve.

Wolston is somewhat larger than either Brandon or Binley Woods. To be found there is St Margaret's Church, Wolston Baptist Church, a riding school, a number of shops, a post office, a library and a garage. There are also three pubs.

There is also a medical practise serving the area including Binley Woods, whilst on the eastern edge of the village is 'Musmajas' operated by the Latvian Welfare Fund. 'Musmajas' provides care for Latvian elders. Educational needs are met by St Margaret's Church of England Primary School.

The former Bluemels factory site is currently a small industrial estate home to a range of businesses although there is a possibility that redevelopment may occur in the future.

Situated on the road from Wolston to Ryton is Ryton Organic Gardens, home of the Henry Doubleday Research Association.

Other villages close by are Bretford on the road from Brandon to Rugby and Stretton-on-Dunsmore situated on the Fosse Way to the south of the A45.

There must be much more information about Binley Woods 'within living memory' waiting to be drawn together. Find out how you can help create a lasting record.
