Rugby Road Traffic Calming - 11 July 2004
Work has been under way in recent weeks on traffic calming at both ends of Binley Woods. Rumble strips have now
been installed at both ends of the village. Work was under way at the Brandon end of the village on Saturday 10th
and Sunday 11th July. Temporary traffic lights were in use on both days.
Other measures are planned including reducing the speed limit, provision of a pedestrian crossing and
illuminating warning signs.
Proposed Variation of Planning Permission At Coventry Stadium - 6 April 2004
Rugby Borough Council has written to advise that Templegate Property Consultants is applying for planning
permission to vary the agreed times of opening of the veterinary surgery. Coventry Racing Club wishes to open
the surgery from 9.30am to 11.30pm on days when greyhound racing takes place and from 9.30am to 6.30pm Monday
to Friday at other times. Plans can be inspected at the Technical Services Department at
the Town Hall between 9.00am and 5.00pm Mondays to Fridays.
Interested parties have 21 days from 6 April 2004 to comment on the application. Letters quoting application
references R/R04/0319/06592/P should be sent to John Ware, Head of Planning Services,
Rugby Borough Council, PO Box 123, Town Hall, Rugby, CV21 2ZP. Letters, which will be available for public
inspection, should relate to planning issues. Mr Ware advises that other factors such as property values will
not influence the decision.
Application for Erection of Fencing - Binley Woods Primary School - 17 February 2004
Warwickshire County Council has applied to the County Planning Authority for planning permission for the erection
of a 2.4 metre high steel palisade security fence to the site boundary. It is to be powder coated green with
splayed tops. The application does not appear to include replacement of the existing gates. The plans are
available for inspection at Binley Woods County Library.
Interested parties have until 15 March 2004 to comment on the application. Letters should be sent to the
Development Group, Department of Planning, Transport & Economic Strategy, Warwickshire County Council,
Shire Hall, Warwick CV34 4SX or email. Please quote application
no.R171/04CC008. The email address has now been amended. The one originally provided by Mr Cox was not valid.
Application for Track Betting Licence - Coventry Stadium - 19 January 2004
Rugby Borough Council has written to advise that Hammonds Solicitors is applying for a Track Betting Licence
on behalf of Coventry Greyhound Club Limited. In considering the application, the Council will consider:
- Whether the grant of the licence would injuriously affect either the health or the comfort of persons residing
in the neighbourhood of the track, or be detrimental to the interests of persons receiving instruction or
residing in any school or institution in that neighbourhood; or
- Would seriously impair the amenities of that neighbourhood; or
- Would result in undue congestion of traffic or seriously prejudice the preservation of law and order.
Interested parties have until 7 March 2004 to comment on the application. Letters should be sent to

Proposed Development At Coventry Stadium - 16 January 2004
Rugby Borough Council has written to advise that Templegate Property Consultants is applying for planning
permission to amend the location of the veterinary surgery approved under application reference number
R03/0684/6592/P. They are also applying for permission to erect an illuminated monopole sign with a three
sided board and a non-illuminated banner. Plans can be inspected at the Technical Services Department at
the Town Hall between 9.00am and 5.00pm Mondays to Fridays.
Interested parties have 21 days from 16 January 2004 to comment on the application. Letters quoting application
references R/R04/0039/06592/P and R04/0032/06592/A should be sent to John Ware, Head of Planning Services,
Rugby Borough Council, PO Box 123, Town Hall, Rugby, CV21 2ZP. Letters, which will be available for public
